FOR THE COUPLE WHO WANT TO STAY IN THEIR MARRIAGE

BUT HAVE NO IDEA HOW OR WHERE TO START

The Long Marriage ®:

A Roadmap to

Lasting Love, Sex & Fun

We’re taught how to fall in love. Nobody really teaches us how

to stay there.

We know the beginning.

The chemistry. The choosing. The sex. The excitement. The feeling that you’ve found your person.

But nobody really prepares us for what happens 10, 20 or 30 years later.

When you’ve raised children, built careers, paid mortgages, weathered losses, changed bodies, changed priorities and become different versions of yourselves along the way.

And then one day you can look across at the person you chose and wonder:

What happened to us?

I don't believe this automatically means you chose the wrong person.

Or that you've fallen out of love.

Or that attraction disappearing means it's gone forever.

I think we've been sold a pretty shitty story about what long-term love is supposed to look like.

The Long Marriage is a different one.

It’s the idea that a great relationship isn't something you find and then desperately try to preserve exactly as it was.

It has to evolve because you do.

There will be seasons of closeness and distance. Times when sex is incredible and times when it disappears.

Years when you're deeply connected and periods when life takes over and you drift.

The goal isn't never drifting.

It's learning how to notice when you have ... and knowing how to

change course.

That means understanding the patterns you've created together. Taking responsibility for your part without taking all the blame. Staying curious about the person beside you as they change.

Bringing yourself back to life. Rebuilding attraction, connection, friendship, pleasure and play.

Not trying to get your

old relationship back.

Creating the next version of it.

Because staying together for a long time isn't the achievement.

Still wanting the life, and the person, you've chosen is.

This program is for you if:

You've tried relationship/couples counselling before and nothing changed

You are uncertain and fearful of your next steps in your relationship

You feel like you're the only one in your marriage trying

You feel like you love your partner, but not IN love with them

You want to bring back the fun and connection to your relationship

Can Women Have a Midlife Crisis?

May 29, 20243 min read

Am I having a Midlife Crisis?

It’s your 40’s – and are you gently flowing down a beautiful stream, allowing the tide to take you on a wonderful, peaceful journey….or are you careening around like an out of control bus without Keanu Reeves as the driver ?

If you’re anything like the women I work with – you’re the latter!!

And it doesn’t feel as exciting as watching Sandra Bullock do it.

Can women have a midlife crisis

For women navigating a midlife crisis, the journey can be filled with uncertainty and emotional turbulence. Many grapple with questions about their identity, feeling lost in both personal and professional realms.

There's a palpable sense of discontentment with career paths chosen and a longing for deeper fulfilment.

Alongside this, there's the struggle with changing body image, a source of insecurity in a society that often favours youth.

Relationship dynamics add another layer of complexity, with strains appearing in various facets of life. As children get older, marriages are filled with a couple who suddenly realised they don’t really know each other like they used to.

Existential ponderings about the meaning of it all…combined with the real truth of mortality… a sense of urgency for change arises.

Whether the rug has been pulled from under their feet from a health scare, losing a loved one or a big change in circumstances, women start to ask…

Is this all there is to life?

The search for meaning intensifies.

With women questioning their life choices, their values, and their sense of purpose.

The most exciting part about this time of a woman’s life?

This period of questioning can lead to profound personal growth. PROFOUND!!!

Here are some steps you can take to help during midlife...

1) Stillness:

For many women, they have looked after others all their life. They’ve been the good girl, the people pleaser, the dependable one, sacrificing their own needs so much that they have lost who they are – and what they REALLY want.

Finding ways to still an overactive mind such as meditation, yoga - even taking yourself for a quiet walk in nature – can all help in listening to and discovering your deeper voice that knows the truth in how you feel and what you want to be doing.

Explore new passions:

Without having the chance to do much for yourself, you might be wondering what you even love doing! This is the perfect time to explore interests and activities that ignite your passion and bring you joy. Whether that’s painting, hiking, cooking classes or pottery…give some new hobbies a go and see what that does to zesting up your life.

Self-compassion:

Show yourself kindness and understanding for yourself as you navigate this challenging phase.

Practice self-compassion by acknowledging your feelings without judgment and treating yourself with the same warmth and empathy you would offer to a dear friend.

Seek Support:

Don't hesitate to lean on friends, family, or a professional coach for support. Sharing your experiences and emotions with others can provide comfort and perspective during times of uncertainty.

Ultimately, looking at your midlife as the opportunity to do something new, something for yourself can bring you immense joy.

With age comes wisdom...and the world needs more wisdom right now!

If you’re looking at ways to grow and re-invent yourself, a self-development program might just be what you need.

Surrounding yourself with likeminded women on similar journeys is a beautiful way to thrive in this time of your life.

If you're ready, I can't wait to hear from you!

Much love,

Pam
